Children’s Ministry
Children’s Ministry is where discipleship begins. It is here that we take our first steps toward introducing our little ones to the truths of God's Word.
Our focus begins with providing a safe, loving, formative environment for infants, their caregivers, and children-primarily up through the age of 10 years.
Infants-Crawlers:
We are pleased to offer a large, comfortable livestream room for caregivers to enjoy the service remotely. Relax, have a seat in a rocking chair, and help yourself to some refreshment as you step away from the church service to tend to the needs of your little ones.
Each Sunday morning, the children, enjoy walking various paths of discipleship while building community with their peers. They are embracing simple truths through biblical teaching, games, skits, role-playing, and working on crafts or activities together.
1-4 year olds:
Presently, we offer a 1-4 year-old room that is ready to receive little ones at 11:20 each Sunday. They enjoy playtime, singing, a Bible story, crafts, and snacks. We try to have a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio with caregivers and children.
5-10 year olds:
After having worshipped for about 20 minutes with the whole church body, 5-10 year olds are dismissed.
In the 5-10’s class, we rotate four sets of teachers throughout the month. This approach allows them time for personal growth under the teaching of our pastor, yet also time to serve within Kids Ministry.
Please Visit!
We would be overjoyed to have your child or children join us at OCC. You all will be warmly welcomed.
FAQ's
If visiting, what entrance is best, and what should I expect upon arrival?
Try to arrive by 11:15/11:20, because at 11:30, the entry doors just off the back parking lot are locked.
(This is a safety precaution that is implemented each Sunday as our church service begins). Any time after 11:30 please use our main entrance on E. Walnut. Entering here places you in the foyer at the rear of the sanctuary.
Who are your teachers & caregivers?
We look for attentive, caring individuals who have a heart for children and who have demonstrated a love and commitment to our Lord. Our teachers and caregivers have been carefully selected, each one having current clearances on file.
